AFCON 2019: Nigeria Super Eagles Defect South Africa To Qualify For Semi-Final.

The super eagles of Nigeria continued their quest for a fourth Africa Cup of Nations Title with a 2 – 1 win over South Africa in a quarter – final match at the Cairo International Stadium in Egypt on Wednesday night.

Samuel Chukwueze in his first AFCON match started Nigeria’s qualification for the semi-final with a goal from an Alex Iwobi pass, But South Africa came back in the first minute when “VAR” confirmed Bongani Zungu’s goal as the ball came off Nigeria’s striker Odion Ighazo’s.

Defender Willams Troost-Ekong gave Nigeria the winner with a minute to regulation time when he converted a Moses Simon coner- kick and Nigeria will face the winner of the Cote D’Ivoire-Algeria match on Sunday by 8pm.

Earlier Senegal defeated Benin Republic in the quarter-final match by a lone goal.
