OGSG PROMISES TO PUT AN END TO THE MENACE OF LAND GRABBING

The Ogun State Government has assured the seven communities in Oko-makun, Sagamu Local Government, of its readiness to put a stop to activities of land grabbers in the locality.

Addressing members of the communities at the Governor’s Office in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Salisu Shuaib, said the State would no longer be a safe haven for land speculators and unscrupulous people undermining government’s effort at providing adequate security for the citizenry.

The Governor noted that part of his administration’s strategy at addressing insecurity is the establishment of a security trust fund that would ensure that security officers in the State have all gadgets needed to tackle insecurity.

“Sagamu is important to us, as it shares boundary with Lagos. We are setting up a security trust fund to provide gadgets and remove other hitches facing Officers in the line of their duties. Our security agencies will swing into action and the State’s land Anti Grabbing law would also be fully implemented to curb the menace”, he said.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Staff to the Ogun State Governor, Alhaji Salisu Shuaib, has reassured that the present administration in the State would run an all-inclusive government, to ensure even distribution of dividends of democracy.

Alhaji Shuaib, who disclosed this while addressing group of Councillors at the Governor’s Office, Abeokuta, commended them for their courage, resilience and for standing on the part of truth, noting that, the decision taken during the build up to the election, was not an easy one.

Speaking on behalf of other Councillors, Hon. Mustapha Olowookere of Abeokuta South Local Government said their Joy knew no bound with the emergence of Prince Dapo Abiodun as the new Governor of Ogun State.
