Government and individuals should do what is necessary to show appreciation to the Nation’s falling heroes who are paying the price to maintain the integrity,unity and security of the nation.
The Ogun State Governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun stated this in an interview shortly after laying the wreath during the celebration of the 2019 Armed Forces Remembrance day in honour of the fallen heroes at the Arcade ground Oke-Mosan,Abeokuta this Tuesday.
Governor Amosun who explained that the fallen soldiers has paid the supreme price, noted that the state government has always being seeing to the welfare of the living and the families of the fallen heroes.
He stated that the Labours and efforts of the Nigerian security would not go in vain.
The Governor,also admonished all Nigerians to embrace unity,irrespective of their religion,gender,tribe or political affiliation.
The number one citizen inspected the special parade by the Nigerian legion, the Nigerian Navy and the Nigeria army awhile he led the top officers in the military and the paramount rulers in the state to lay the wreath at the cenotaph in honor of the fallen soldiers.
A total of 57 white pigeons representing the 20 local governments and the 37 local council development areas in the state were released by the governor as a symbol of national peace.
The heroes were later honored with 21 gun salutes.
